Vuba Rust Treatment is a specialist cleaner designed to remove cosmetic rust spotting and surface rust stains from resin-bound surfaces. These orange or brown stains are typically caused by trace amounts of pyrite in natural aggregates reacting with air and moisture. These rust spots are purely cosmetic and do not compromise the structural integrity of the surface. The treatment is fast-acting, highly effective, and simple to apply.

Key Information

  • Usability: Temperature: 5–40 °C
  • Environmental Conditions: Not recommended to apply in strong winds. Surface must be free of rubbish, debris, and obstructions to allow effective cleaning.
  • Coats: If stains remain, apply a second coat once the first coat has been applied and thoroughly rinsed.
  • Usage Time: Don’t leave product to sit for longer than 5 minutes
  • Storage: Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Ensure container is tightly sealed after use.
  • Shelf Life: 12 months from date of manufacture when stored correctly.

Instructions

PREPARATION:

  • Ensure surface is dry, clean, and free of contamination. The product will not work on wet surfaces.

APPLICATION:

  • Use the product undiluted.
  • Decant into a bucket or suitable container and apply generously using a medium pile roller or paintbrush.
  • A purple tint will appear, indicating the product is working. Scrub the area with a stiff wooden brush or deck scrubber.
  • Allow to react for no more than 3–5 minutes. Do not allow to dry on the surface.
  • Rinse thoroughly using a hosepipe or pressure washer.
  • For persistent staining, repeat the process.
  • Apply a resin-based sealer 48–72 hours after treatment for enhanced protection and finish.
